Jockey of Artemision, Photographic prints
The Jockey of Artemision is a rare surviving original bronze statue from Ancient Greece of a young boy riding a racehorse, dated to around 150–140 BC. Most bronzes that early were melted down in plunder. I was in awe of it, as I walked around it, and thought this angle best introduced you to the horse and rider communication. I love his little spurs. It is larger than life at the National Archaeological Museum, Athens.
