Delightful, whimsical fantasies about inventors, or tinkerers, or kids combining imagination with either science or engineering. Great recommendations!

Another great book is  Dreaming Up: A Celebration of Building. It has photos of different architectural masterpieces from around the world and examples of kids’ creations (with everyday objects) that are similar. It also provides pictures and details (at the end of the book) about the different architects.

More good late recommendations:  “The Mad Scientist’s Club” and “What do you do with a Problem?”
