This silhouette was inspired by the transformation of an OTTB (off the track thoroughbred), from 2-year-old racehorse to a career in dressage. The painting expresses a new peace, poise, and confidence found through patience, care, and re-schooling. It is a partner to my other painting “Racer”. The paintings are for sale separately. However, when displayed together, the two images embody the life of a successful OTTB adoption. The pieces are dedicated to the kind heroes who rescue and rehabilitate these young retired racehorses, and help each horse find a new loving owner and new forever home.
